Belmont Beach Aquatic Center, CA

For over 50 years, the Belmont Beach Aquatic Center has served the as the center point for aquatic recreation and competition for the community. The City of Long Beach is developing a new high tech, state of the art facility at this well known site to be a place for aquatic competition and provide a brand new aquatic center for the community.

STARQ’s role in the development of this project was to develop the ETFE canopies and take the architectural vision and create steel and ETFE clad canopy structures that are beautiful, state of the art, constructable, and cost effective. The three customized canopies utilize both cushion systems as well as single skin ETFE cladding technology with the performance of the foil being dialed in for solar control and aesthetic intent.
