Uptown Dubai Urban District is located at the heart of Dubai’s ever expanding Free-Trade zone mega-district, in close proximity to the new DWC airport and Jebel Ali port, and at the intersection of major transit arteries. Surrounded by mixed-density residential neighborhoods within walkable distances, Uptown Dubai Urban District is poised to be the next hot-spot for Dubai’s metropolitan area.

The master plan celebrates the idea of a unique convergence of global trade, finance, information technology, transit and hospitality in the Emirate. This is referenced in the planning and visualization of the circulation systems and creation of the public realm.

This award-winning master plan was adapted for the development of the Uptown Tower and other buildings within the Uptown Dubai district following completion of the Master Plan phase.

The vehicular and open space network, land-use distribution and phasing strategy of the master plan ensures the creation of a vibrant, multi-dimensional “heart” within the district, with continuous, unceasing activity.

To maximize the relevance of the tower, paying respect to some of the city’s most relevant urban icons have been considered to further maximize exposure of and access to the district and Uptown Dubai (formerly Burj 2020.)
