1 North Wacker Cable Net, Chicago

The 1 N Wacker lobby renovation added a first of its kind cable net facade long span facade to the lobby. The cable net technology is akin to a tennis racket that relies on a rigid frame perimeter and a tensioned SS cable in the vertical and horizontal directions that are clamped together at their intersections. The SS cast nodes also support the glass lites at the four corners of each glass pane. The result a high transparency glass wall with minimal visible structure.
